Setting up your Allwebco template:

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad or any text editor and change "Your Website Title" to match your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Edit the text following "&textline=". You can also leave this line blank but do not delete the "&textline=" code. This will change the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

Step 2:
EDIT FOOTER: | Click for more details
Open the "footer.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and change the "Your Company" line with your company name. This will change the lower page info on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor. The "footer.js" also includes links you can edit, or you can add more links as well.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.html" in Notepad or any text or HTML editor and change the e-mail link, your address and phone number. Be sure to test the e-mail link.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details | Thumbnail Help
The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the gallery.htm and change the image code. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace all the "Fgallery?-?.jpg" pictures with full size photos. These are now 500 x 333 pixels. Replace all the "gallery?-?.jpg" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 50 x 50 pixels. You can make these images any size you would like. It is best not to go wider than about 600 pixels wide with the larger images.

To change the speed of the slideshow edit the "var rotate_delay = 4000;" at the top of the slideshow.js.

Step 6:
(OPTIONAL) EDIT THE sidebar.js: | More Details
Open the "sidebar.js" file in Notepad or any text editor. There are some variables at the top you can change. These options include showing an extra sidebar image, show a list of links, show another row for the gallery links and others. If you say yes to "SHOW PARAGRAPH" you will then edit the following line of text near the "1st TEXT AREA" note in the sidebar.js:

document.write('This area is for notes or links. Edit the sidebar.js to update this text. ');

Edit only the text in the center and do not disturb the code at the start and end of each line. The sidebar is a global file and most pages will update when you edit this file. The site map and galleries do not show the sidebar.

Step 7:
EDIT FLASH CHANGER: | More Details
The Flash image changer in the sidebar is randomly showing 10 .jpg images. Replace these images in the "flash" folder with your 200 x 133 pixel .jpg images. In the "flash" folder is a file called "image_changer.xml". This file is the changer setup file. Edit this .xml file in Notepad to change how the changer works. You can also add more images to the changer. Click for details.

Step 8:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Change the text on all pages to match your information. You can use Frontpage, Dreamweaver, GoLive, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text.

Step 9:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords to match your product or service. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. The page title is important so your site will get a good listing at Google or Msn and other search engines.

Step 10:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software like CuteFTP or Coffee Cup (free) or your control panel. Be sure to make a folder called picts on your server and put the pictures into that folder.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo. To do this, delete or rename the "header.js", then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg". Edit this graphic with your logo.

FONTS: | Click for more details
You can change your font colors and sizes by editing the "coolstyle.css" with a text editor. You can find other font colors by clicking here. You can also change the font sizes in the "coolstyle.css" file. Change the "TABLE" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes. The background color, menus and other colors are also changed in this CSS file.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard height a "pageheight.js" file was included. Edit this file in Notepad and you can change the height="650" to any height you need.

HOMEPAGE SOUND: | Click for more details
You can replace the "home-sound.mp3" in the "sounds" folder with your own mp3 sound file, or you can remove the sound by deleting the code between the "FLASH SOUND AREA" notes in the index.html.

CHANGING / ADDING BUTTONS: | Click for more details
You can change the names on the menu buttons like "about us" or "home" to other page names by editing the "menu.js" in Notepad. Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js will change every page on the website. You can also add more menu buttons by copying the lines of code in the menu.js and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your file before you edit them. You will also find menu links to edit in the "footer.js". Links are included in the "sidebar.js" as well. Turn on the sidebar links by choosing "yes" near the top of the "sidebar.js" for the "show sidebar links" line.

ADDING PAGES: | Adding pages | Add More Galleries
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or even add the page to the menu by opening the menu.js and copying and pasting one of the buttons below another. There are notes in the "menu.js" to help you add a button.

ADDING MORE IMAGES TO A GALLERY PAGE (extras folder files):
In this template it can be involved to add more images on a gallery page. To help show how this is done, this template includes a 24 image gallery page in the "extras" folder. The "OPTIONAL-24IMAGE-gallery1.htm" can be copied out of the "extras" folder. Place the 24 .jpg images in the "extras" folder into your "gallery" folder. Rename the "OPTIONAL-24IMAGE-gallery1.htm" to any gallery.htm name you would like. This page is setup to be used as gallery #1. You will need to search for .jpg image names and edit them if you want to use this page for a different gallery.

SITE MAP PAGE:
The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

PICTURES: | Click for more details
You will find all pictures for this template in the "picts" the "gallery" and in the "flash" folders.
